"There is a wild hunger for physical safety, which paralyzes the power of thought. People are ready to buy the illusion of security at any price, hoping against hope that something will happen to save their countries from invasion."......Leon Blum, French Prime Minister, 1938. Cited in "Letters to My Israeli Sons" by Lynne Reid Banks)

Actually I am surprised. Why do so many people say that the "peace process" is falling apart? Perhaps the misunderstanding is coming from an orthodox approach. If one simply reads the available documents everything becomes crystal clear. The "peace process" is going exactly as the PLO intended it to go.

For starters I would suggest becoming familiar with the Palestinian Charter, as in 1995 the deputy chairman of the PLO's Palestine National Council Tayseer Qaba, pledged, "We will adhere to the Charter until our last breath since it embodies the essence of our demands."

According to Article 22 of the Charter " the liberation of Palestine will destroy the Zionist presence... and will contribute to the establishment of peace in the Middle East." Does not the "establishment of peace" comes from a "peace process?"

Article !6 adds that "the liberation of Palestine... will provide the Holy Land with an atmosphere of safety and tranquillity." Here it is: the Netanyahu's safety requirement, it is guaranteed a priori as it is included in the main body of the Charter! It is important to recall that the Charter is not making any distinction between Judea, Samaria or Israel proper. Article 2 unequivocally states, "Palestine, with the boundaries it had during the British Mandate, is an indivisible territorial unit." Article 19 adds that "The partition of Palestine in 1947 and the establishment of the state of Israel are entirely illegal, regardless of the passage of time." Moreover Article 20 concurs and says that "the Balfour Declaration, the Mandate for Palestine, and everything that has been based upon them, are deemed null and void."

It is in vain to argue that the Jews' uninterrupted presence in Eretz Israel is several thousand years old. Article 20 firmly denies it. The Palestinian Arabs that proclaimed themselves to be a separate nation just in the middle of this century have no doubts that "claims of historical or religious ties of Jews with Palestine are incompatible with the facts of history." That same Article 20 adds that "Jews do not constitute a single nation with an identity of its own."

Taking care of the Jews and announcing them nonexistent the Charter did not forget about Zionism. Article 22 announces that Zionism "is racist and fanatic in its nature, aggressive, expansionist, and colonial in its aims, and fascist in its methods." This is why Article 15 clearly states that "the liberation of Palestine...aims at the elimination of Zionism in Palestine."

Now we are completing the circle. "Israel is the instrument of the Zionist movement. ... Israel is a constant threat vis-à-vis peace in the Middle East and the whole world." According to Article 23 "the demand of security and peace...require all states to consider Zionism an illegitimate movement, to outlaw its existence, and to ban its operations." "Since the liberation of Palestine will destroy the Zionist presence and will contribute to the establishment of peace in the Middle East" per Article 22, and per Article 18 "the liberation of Palestine... will re-establish peace and security in the country." The conclusion is very simple--the struggle against Israel is the struggle for peace!

The Charter elaborates how to achieve this "peace and security." Article 7 says that "the Palestinian... must be prepared for the armed struggle and ready to sacrifice...his life." Article 8 clarifies that "the Palestinian masses, regardless of where ...they are residing ...constitute... one national front working for the retrieval of Palestine and its liberation through armed struggle." Article 9 is the apotheosis and it declares, "Armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine. This is the overall strategy, not merely a tactical phase. The Palestinian Arab people assert their absolute determination and firm resolution to continue their armed struggle." Going even further in detailing what kind of armed action is preferable, Article 10 explains that "commando action constitutes the nucleus of the popular liberation war." The terrorist activity that the world is witnessing is exactly the type of "commando action" that is called for in the Charter.

If anybody thinks that Hamas, Islamic Jihad, or any other terrorist group will have trouble finding a common language with the PLO, I want to reassure them by indicating that the Charter envisions the necessity of unity between Palestinian forces. Article 8 declares that "the conflicts among the Palestinian national forces are secondary, and should be ended for the sake of the basic conflict that exists between forces of Zionism...and the Palestinian Arab people."

On April 28, 1977 addressing a crowd in Tulkarem Arafat said, "I now see the walls of Jerusalem, the mosques of Jerusalem, the churches of Jerusalem. My brothers! With blood and with spirit we will redeem you, Palestine! Yes, with blood and with spirit we will redeem you, Palestine!"

To anyone who is familiar with the Charter it is clear that Arafat's appeal is a call towards "peace and security." Well, Jewish blood will be spilled in this process, but what is Jewish blood compared to the peace that will be achieved after Israel is destroyed? I should stop being sarcastic. The hateful manual is still very much alive. Even if the Charter had been amended the hatred of the Palestinian Arabs towards Israel would have remained unchanged. The PLO leaders day after day keep pouring abhorrence and venom on the Jews and Israel. They keep disseminating lies. They keep calling for destruction of the Jewish state. They keep calling for Jihad. They keep killing the Jews through terrorist actions. In other words they completely adhere to every single letter of their Charter.

One may ask, "So, why does the PLO not amend the piece of paper and keep doing everything that is stated in it, therefore, at least, making trustworthy the leftist Israelis. The answer was given in 1978 by one Dr. Mahjub in a "limited circulation" document as J. Becker tells in her book "The PLO"

"...the PLO must stick to its principles unwaveringly. Principles are called 'conceptual weapons.' No pragmatic concessions must be made....A revolution is a war, and war has its weapons. And the most important weapon in a revolution is principles and public slogans for which the revolutionaries will fight. The right principle is stronger then the strongest weapon and surpasses the enemy force.... As to concealing the slogan, if we publicly deny it while promising in secret to keep it, for whom then will this "secret" slogan exist?"

This is the answer! Contrary to the Israeli Jews who betrayed their Zionist principles the Palestinian Arabs stick to theirs. PLO knows that there is a war going on between Israel and the Arabs, and it wants to win this war. Yes, there is a war raging. The world community is committing a crime by participating in this war on the side of the terrorist groups.

The Mahane Yehuda bombing was not directed "against peace" as the world media likes to describe it. It was directed against the Jews. On August 10,1997 Nabil Amru, a member of the Palestinian legislative council said, "Mr. Ross is honoring us with a working visit today, after the shattered body parts of the Jews were spread about in Mahane Yehuda." This statement reflects obvious contempt towards the Jews in general and hidden contempt towards the American Jew Dennis Ross who according to an 8/8/97 editorial in "The Jerusalem Post" "personally believes that Arafat should not be pressed to fulfill his commitment to amend the Palestinian Covenant." How a Jew can find excuses for not pressing to amend or revoke the Charter is beyond my comprehension. Obviously, Mr. Ross is performing his duty as an American citizen, but wouldn't it be better for a Jew to resign and not to participate in the dirty political game that brings closer Israel's destruction?

Sometimes I feel that we are all living in a surrealistic world. The American leaders use all available means to force Israel to more and more concessions. Just listen what on the 8th of August President Bill Clinton said in a news conference. "Until the Israelis believe(!!!) that the Palestinian Authority(PA) is making 100 percent effort...on security, it is impossible for peace process to proceed." Incredible! The American President, whom the Israelis consider most "friendly" to Israel, does not demand that the PA fulfill their parts of an agreement that includes unequivocally immediate annulment of the Charter, dismantlement of terrorist infrastructure, extradition of terrorists, etc. Instead, he calls on the Israelis to BELIEVE that this is happening.

Apparently the American leaders are absolutely confident that the Israeli Jews have resigned themselves to hopelessness of the situation and just waiting for the most appropriate moment to surrender to their enemies. Otherwise I cannot explain what Secretary of State Madeline Albright said on 8/7/97 at the press conference speaking about the Mahane Yehuda bombing that killed 14 people. She said the following, "At the same time, it says something good and very right about the Israeli people that they will never grow used to such events. They will never fail to respond with outrage and grief, never fail to mourn the individual lives that have been cut short, never cease to comfort the families, never cease to demand an end to terrorist attacks."

The Secretary of State did not suggest that the Israelis fight the terrorists, she did not say that they arrest and severely punish them, she did not say that the Israelis should employ preventive measures. No! She expects only grieving, mourning, comforting of each other by an absolutely submitted people. I do not blame the President and the Secretary of State for their attitude towards the Israelis. I blame the Israelis and world Jewry for allowing the world to accept them as such. The four years of the Kevorkian Land for Suicide Plan turned into a giant chain of Israeli surrenders. Israel silently accepted all the lies, accusations and humiliations. She lost confidence and hope. Like a convicted killer she lowered her head onto the block awaiting the executioner's ax.

Today, the leader of the Hebron Jewish community David Wilder in an Internet posting from Hebron wrote, "Thousands of years ago our forefathers committed a horrendous crime - they rejected Eretz Yisrael. While wandering through the desert, spies were sent out to examine the Land of Israel. Ten of the twelve returned with reports of `giants' and a land that literally `ate its inhabitants.' That day, the 9th of Av, was decreed a day of `weeping for generations.'."

Today, on the 9th of Av 5757 the Jews are on the brink of rejecting the Eretz Israel again. The only way to prevent the disaster from happening is to cancel the suicidal Oslo pact. Professor of international law Louis Rene Beres clearly explained in scores of articles that for the sake of justice it is a must for Israel to abrogate the Oslo agreement.

Common sense demands it. The blood of the innocent Israelis demands it. The future of the Jewish people demands its repeal now. 8/12/97
