What has come now come to the fore is that journalists may be used as forward spotters by the Terrorists. As they did during the 2006 Lebanon War against Hezb’Allah, the journalists would report where a rocket would land, giving the Terrorist the information they needed to correct the flight path. Israeli journalists, often known to be self-hating anti-Semites, also participated in this.
Terrorists in Mumbai, India who were holed up in the Jewish Chabad center there, were given warning by journalists when Indian commandoes/anti-terrorist forces were being lowered by helicopter to the top of the building.
The journalists are well rewarded for their vicious stories - either through the feeling of satisfaction in knowing they have caused yet further harm to the Jews and their annoying Jewish country. They also probably receive cash bonuses, no doubt, from their bosses and from Muslim Arab interests.
Now that would be a great subject for a piece of investigative journalism.
Clearly, any journalist and their station who acts in such a biased manner has opted to enter the fray, not as an objective observer but as a combatant with their agenda. If that is their choice, then as field combatants, they cannot claim special status as non-involved observers.
In this War, officers are more tight-lipped to the media. They’ve changed the way the IDF has been reporting on the events in Gaza to the Media. If, in the Lebanon 2006 War, the Media knew about troop deployment as it was happening [which was sometimes leaked to Hezb’Allah], this time around the IDF Spokesman’s Office and Military Censor have employed a stricter policy under the Spokesman’s Office does not report on the location of troops inside Gaza. "There is no reason to tell the enemy what we are doing and plan to do," explained another officer. "This defeats the purpose." (2)
This is also why the Americans sequestered the journalists when they attacked Grenada to rescue the American college students being held hostage.
